The Munich team celebrated a comfortable 4-1 away win over Hertha BSC on Sunday and are again six points ahead of BVB. Corentin Tolisso (25′), Thomas Müller (45′), Leroy Sane (75′) and Serge Gnabry (79′) were the goalscorers of the defending champions, with Marcel Sabitzer coming on as a substitute in the 69th minute.
A few hours earlier, RB Leipzig had celebrated a 2-0 home win over VfL Wolfsburg. The Saxons thus won their fourth competitive game in a row and advanced to sixth place. Willi Orban (76th) and Josko Gvardiol (84th) scored the goals, Konrad Laimer was substituted for the hosts in the 55th minute.
Wolfsburg, where Xaver Schlager, who was convalescent after a cruciate ligament rupture, was still missing and goalkeeper Pavao Pervan was on the substitutes’ bench, fell even deeper into the crisis. VfL, which has slipped down to 15th place in the table, only managed one point from the last eight championship games.
