The karting track of the Igora Drive circuit received the highest FIA license

The Igora Drive karting track was the first in Russia to receive the highest license from the International Automobile Federation (FIA). This was announced on Monday, January 24, by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Igora Drive Mauro Sipsts.

It is noted that the Karting Center will be able to host international competitions in the OK, OK-junior, KZ1 and KZ2 classes.

According to Mauro Sipsts, the track was adapted to the FIA ​​requirements within a year. He called obtaining a license an important event for Russia, which will contribute to the development of youth motorsport. Sipsz added that on the track they will also conduct training for children who will be able to get their first experience in competitions.

President of the Russian Automobile Federation Viktor Kiryanov expressed his hope that the Igora Drive karting track will become the best not only in Europe, but also in the world.

At the moment the Karting Center welcomes guests every day. Anyone can try their hand and drive a session on a Sodi RT8 or Sodi LR5 rental kart, participate in a group ride in a race format or learn from an instructor of the Karting Center.

Earlier, on October 1, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government of Russia and the Leningrad Region, as well as Russian Railways, to ensure the transport accessibility of the Igora Drive autodrome during the Russian stage of the Formula 1 championship.

On July 6, 2021, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Russian Formula round, announced that the idea of ​​holding the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix at the Igora Drive circuit from 2023 was approved by all interested parties .

The Igora Drive circuit is a unique project that combines technical sports and entertainment. On the territory of about 100 hectares, 54 km from St. Petersburg, there are 10 tracks for auto and motor sports and a complex of facilities built using the most advanced technologies in accordance with all world standards. Igora Drive is of great social importance as a center for the development of automotive culture and safety in Russia, as well as for supporting children’s and youth sports. The complex is also an active leisure center for a wide audience.
