How the withdrawal of the Country Tax affects the purchase of subscriptions and video games
Until now, the card or solidarity dollar has an additional surcharge of 30% for the Country tax, and another 30% for the Income tax. In the case of the dollar for digital services, whether streaming sites or video games, it is made up of a 30% of Profits, 21% of VAT, and 8% of the Country tax.
Starting December 24, the card dollar will drop by 30% to buy trips, online products, hotels, among others. However, for the purchase of video games and digital services, will drop 8%.
As a consequence, digital services such as purchasing video games on Steam and PlayStation (PS Plus), or paying for subscriptions such as Netflix, YouTube and Spotify, will cost 8 percent less. This waytaxes will amount to 51 percent (30 percent profit and 21 percent VAT).
