Although air conditioner problems usually occur due to low electrical voltage, dirt in the filters or lack of refrigerant gas, the specialist points out that many times the problem is found in the capacitor, a component that facilitates the starting of the motor and, if it fails, the equipment does not cool properly.
“Generally there are two capacitors: one small and one large, which is what gives the initial force to the compressor”the technician explained in his video. If it is broken, to fix this part you need to follow a series of steps:
- Download the piece: Use a metal object to remove any electrical charge accumulated on the capacitor.
- Document the connection: Take a photo of the wiring before disconnecting the part, which makes it easier to reinstall it correctly.
- Remove the capacitor: Carefully remove it from the air conditioner.
- Replace it: Buy a new capacitor with the same specifications and place it in the same position.
