This is how the Bundesliga will be on TV from next season

The 36 professional clubs in the first and second leagues will collect 4.484 billion euros for the next four seasons. In order to be able to watch all of their games, you will need a few subscriptions again.

The German Football League has once again broken the billion mark in the allocation of national media rights and has continued the high revenue level of previous years. For the 2025/26 to 2028/29 seasons, the 36 clubs in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga can expect revenue totaling 1.121 billion euros per season. This corresponds to total revenue of 4.484 billion euros and an increase of around two percent compared to the previous cycle. The Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga therefore continue to have the second strongest national media contract of all football leagues.

“The result of the tender underlines the unbroken popularity of German professional football in economically challenging times. Trust and unity in the league association have paid off,” said DFL managing director Steffen Merkel in an official statement.

DFL: Sky and DAZN share the live broadcasts of the Bundesliga

In the pay-TV sector, there will remain two media partners as before. The live broadcast of the Bundesliga individual games on Friday and Saturday (including the top game on Saturday evening) takes place on Sky. The channel also shows all matches in the 2nd Bundesliga. DAZN will broadcast the Saturday conference and all Bundesliga games live on Sunday. The Saturday evening game in the 2nd Bundesliga will also be shown live on RTL on free TV.

Sat.1 also secured an extensive live rights package for free TV. This package includes, among other things, the season opening of the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga, the relegation and the Supercup.

Sportschau and ZDF-Sportstudio remain on board, RTL is now also there

ARD secured the summary (first broadcast on free TV) of the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga games on early Saturday evening and on Friday and Sunday evenings. ZDF will continue to broadcast the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga on free TV on Saturday evening as well as the first broadcast of the top Bundesliga game on free TV. Sport1 also has the right to broadcast summaries of the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga games on Friday and Saturday on Sunday mornings.

RTL acquired the pay rights for highlight clips of the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga matches on demand immediately after the end of the game. ZDF secured the rights package for freely accessible summaries of the matches in both leagues from Monday. The newly introduced short clip rights from Monday will go to Axel Springer. The audio rights were also awarded – ARD prevailed in both areas (UKW and web/mobile).
