Julio Zamora: “Together with the residents of Tigre we are going to build a better community for everyone”

“We have had a year with active management in many areas, but we still have obstacles that we will overcome together”was the message from the mayor of Tigra, Julio Zamora, within the framework of the 75th anniversary of the traditional celebration of the Municipality.

Hundreds of neighbors and visitors gathered to follow in the footsteps of the Virgin from the Immaculate Conception Parish to Lavalle Street and its intersection with Paseo Victorica, where the Holy Mass was held. Then, the Nautical Procession took place and culminated with a central event.

Within the framework of 75th anniversary of Virgin’s DayZamora expressed the importance of “working together with the residents of Tigre to build a better community.” The festivities included the walking procession; the Holy Mass, presided over by Monsignor Guillermo Carideand the emotional nautical caravan along with several boats.

The celebration began in the afternoon at the Immaculate Conception Parish with the walking procession of the Virgin Mary, where they also blessed the neighbors’ houses.

“A new year with the Catholic community in this characteristic festival of our city. We are having a party as always and from the Municipality we collaborate so that everything goes in the best possible way,” said the head of the commune. And he continued: “We have had a very hard-working management throughout this year; many positive works and initiatives in all areas such as health, safety. But fundamentally we are convinced of building a community for all, integrated with the message that Bishop Caride gave of hope and encounter.”

“We are giving a message of peace to continue working to build a community among all the residents of Tigre and in this way overcome the obstacles we have. There are many families that are not having a good time and in that framework we must be together,” Zamora concluded.

For his part, Monsignor Guillermo Caride, indicated: “The truth is that it makes us very happy to see the joy of the people with the Virgin. “It is the first time that I participate as a bishop and I have immense joy.” On the other hand, Father “Cote” highlighted the importance of articulated work between the church and the State.

Later, a commemorative plaque was unveiled for the 75th anniversary of the Nautical Procession. Next, the emblematic tour of the Luján River began, led by the Argentine Naval Prefecture boat, which transported the figure of the Virgin, in the company of Zamora; the secretary of Social Development and Inclusion Policies, Gisela Zamora and Bishop Caride. The starting and finishing point was the Prefecture pier, on a now characteristic route from the Puerto de Frutos to the Tigre Art Museum (MAT).

After the procession, the central event took place, which began with the words of “Cote” Quijano and Monsignor Caride and ended with the speech of Zamora, who highlighted the importance of “building a society of peace.”
