PEBs reinforce the commitment to situated and contextualized evaluation. Over the course of 2024, 863,615 3rd, 5th and 6th year students took their assessments in Mathematics and Language Practices, designed specifically based on the contents taught in the classrooms.
Today the Tests were taken by 534,798 girls and boys of 1st and 2nd year focused on Initial Literacy (writing and reading). In total, during November 2,280,012 evaluations were carried out, consolidating an educational policy focused on learning.
Sileoni highlighted that the Buenos Aires Tests allow us to follow the trajectories of the students and adjust pedagogical strategies based on real needs.

“All these evaluation instances are necessary since they strengthen teaching, positively impact school communities and allow us to establish strategies for the future. The PEB show how educational evaluation is not only a diagnosis, but a tool for continuous improvement”, he noted.
Challenge
The initiative began in 2022, and in these two weeks the students are evaluated for the second time so far this school year. To go through this instance, the children worked throughout the year with central Mathematics topics and read, debated and wrote about stories they received to build their personal library.
From the provincial management they pointed out that “The Tests represent a great challenge for the teachers, for the management and Inspection teams, but above all for the students.”
“Through the correction and systematization of the results, which will be analyzed by school and central-level teams, the General Directorate of Culture and Education will design improving strategies to encourage both teaching and learning,” they completed.
