The project of the new plaza in CABA
The new square will occupy more than 1,700 square meters and will have vegetation as its central axis. According to the project design, it will have more than 800 square meters of grass in addition to areas with herbaceous and grass plants, which is intended to become a small natural refuge within the city.
In turn, the design contemplates three main areas: un 113 square meter playground with rubber floors for the safety of children and even a section for parents. Also a meeting area under a pergola equipped with tables to encourage social gatherings.
The space is completed by a stay area equipped with benches for those looking for a place to rest. This area aims to expand the functions of the place, so that it is not just a recreational area.
According to what they indicate, accessibility and functionality were pillars of the project, seeking to generate a inclusive environment that serves both for recreational activities and for moments of relaxation.
The first park of Villa Santa Rita
Until now, Villa Santa Rita had been a symbol of deficit of green spaces in the city. In 2023, the Buenos Aires Legislature unanimously approved a project to expropriate idle lots in the neighborhood, allowing the land in Álvarez Jonte to be used for this plaza.
This, as part of the Communal Works Plan promoted by the Buenos Aires government, which among its priorities includes the improvement and construction of new green spaces for city residents.
In addition to these interventions, the plan included security measures, such as patrols, increased lighting and the installation of Safe Point totems designed to improve the tranquility of the neighbors who use these public spaces.
