Dennis Schröder concedes 51 points in Warriors debut

In his first game for the Golden Warriors, Dennis Schröder suffered a heavy defeat. Meanwhile, Isaiah Hartenstein is winning with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Dennis Schröder had a bitter debut with the Golden State Warriors. The national basketball player and his new team suffered a 93:144 (38:69) defeat at the Memphis Grizzlies. No other team in the North American basketball league NBA has suffered a greater defeat this season. Schröder was recently sent to the Warriors by the Brooklyn Nets in a player swap.

Not much went well for Schröder himself either: the playmaker only hit two of his twelve shots from the field and finished the game with five points and five assists. Schröder started alongside superstar Stephen Curry, who remained scoreless from the field and didn’t score more than two points.

“It was clear to Dennis that he was a new player on a new team. It’s always difficult when you get traded during a season,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said of Schröder’s debut.

“It was a really humiliating night. They gave it to us, we didn’t get anything done in the first quarter. Everything went downhill from there.” The Warriors lost the first quarter 15:37. The Grizzlies hit 27 three-pointers, setting a team record.

Isaiah Hartenstein continues to win with the Thunder

Things went better for Isaiah Hartenstein: The German center and the Oklahoma City Thunder won 105:99 (65:46) against the Orlando Magic. The Thunder have been unbeaten for six games and lead the Western Conference; no other NBA team has had a longer run of success.

Hartenstein recorded his ninth double-double of the season with twelve points and twelve rebounds. For the Magic, Tristan da Silva scored 15 points, Moritz Wagner had ten points.

Maxi Kleber returned to the Dallas Mavericks squad after a two-week break due to a rib injury, but suffered a 95:118 (49:50) home defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers. Kleber didn’t score any points in his 13-minute appearance. The Mavericks had to play without the injured star duo Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the second half.

Ariel Hukporti was also back on the floor for the New York Knicks for the first time in two weeks. In the 133:107 (73:51) away win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the league newcomer was only used in the last two minutes.

It was a special game for Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, who returned to Minneapolis for the first time, where he had spent his first nine years in the league. With 32 points and 20 rebounds he was the outstanding player.
