The president pledged “all the help of the federal government” for “the rescue of the victims and the investigation of what happened,” and sent his “condolences” to the family members.
At the exact moment of the collapse, the councilor of the city of Aguiarnopolis, Elias Junior, was recording a video to denounce the state of the bridge, warning that this event could happen in the near future.
“I’m going to show you, I want this video to reach the competent authorities, federal deputies, senators. this bridge has been in existence for more than 60 years and, as you can see through social networks, the news has greatly demonstrated that the bridge no longer supports the large flow of heavy vehicles that pass through here,” Junior explained.

Two tragedies in Brazil in the last weekend
