JJ Peterka ends NHL losing streak with Buffalo
The Buffalo Sabers led by JJ Peterka have ended their negative streak in the NHL and achieved their first win against New York after 13 defeats in a row.
The Buffalo Sabers have won another game in the NHL after a losing streak of exactly one month. JJ Peterka’s team defeated the New York Islanders 7:1 (2:0, 3:1, 2:0) and thus achieved their highest win of the season. The Sabers had previously lost 13 games in a row in the North American Ice Hockey League.
The Sabers took a 5-0 lead late in the second period, with Peterka contributing to Jack Quinn’s goal with his 15th assist of the season. The most noticeable player for Buffalo was Rasmus Dahlin, who scored four assists. After their twelfth win of the season, the Sabers still remain at the bottom of the Atlantic Division.
Sturm, Seider and Reichel lose
Three other German NHL professionals suffered a defeat: Nico Sturm and the San Jose Sharks lost 3:4 (1:1, 0:3, 2:0) to the Vancouver Canucks. The Sharks went into the second quarter tied, but conceded three goals within 70 seconds.
The Detroit Red Wings led by Moritz Seider remained without a goal in a game for the second time this season and lost 0:4 (0:1, 0:2, 0:1) against the St. Louis Blues in front of their own fans. Seider was on the ice when he conceded three goals. Lukas Reichel scored his seventh assist of the season, but it came too late in his Chicago Blackhawks’ 3:4 (1:1, 1:1, 1:2) away defeat against Minnesota, 33 seconds before the end of the game.
