Patenting of 0km cars fell 7.9% in 2024 compared to 2023: which were the best sellers

The Patenting of 0km cars reached 414,041 units throughout 2024with a drop of 7.9% compared to 2023, according to data from a recent report. Meanwhile, in December alone, the volume was 21,602 cars 0km and marked the best record for that month, which is usually one of low sales, since 2018.

“The big news was the return of financing, now with multiple options from banks and the terminals themselves, and also important discounts and a greater supply of imported vehicleswhich gave the activity a dynamism that allowed us to pass the 414,000 patented units, something unthinkable back in March, but that I maintained was possible,” Beato said.

During the second half of the year there was a significant recovery in saleswhich practically compensated for the collapse that had been observed between January and April, when automakers applied retroactive adjustments to the December devaluation and prices rose more than 100%, a phenomenon that occurred between November 2023 and February 2024.

The greater flexibility of the exchange rate for imports is likely to begin to be reflected in the dealerships’ salons starting in the new year, since both automotive brands with a factory in the country and importers announced a significant number of new launches in the first months of 2025.

0Km Cars: the best-selling brands and models

But the sales figures released by ACARA show that Very little changed in terms of options for buyers and your preferences throughout this ending year.

As happened in previous years, the first sales positions were dominated by locally produced models. A pickup truck with an average sales price of $50 million (Toyota Hilux) fought head to head for first place, while a small-medium car finally won, the Peugeot 208. The “top ten” was completed with two locally produced SUVs, the Volkswagen Taos (13,190 units) and the Rosario Chevrolet Tracker (10,950).
