Dear Venezuelans in Argentina, today it’s your turn! Our elected president Edmundo González Urrutia will be received by President Javier Milei at (the) Casa Rosada!” the Venezuelan opposition leader wrote in advance of the meeting. Milei and González Urrutia held a 30-minute meeting and appeared together on the balcony of the Casa Rosada.
After the demonstration of support, Corina Machado shared some words of gratitude for the national government: “Thank you Argentina and thank you President @JMilei for all your support for our cause.” Then he added: “it’s almost there.”

Machado and the opposition coalition Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) they insist that González Urrutia was the winner of the presidential elections on July 28. For its part, the Maduro regime rejects this position and is preparing for the inauguration on January 10.
Regarding this, Corina Machado stated: “Maduro will never be able to show a single report because we devastated the entire country and they know it. With this immense pride in being Venezuelan, we are going to meet very soon on the streets of Venezuela and the world.”

Following the meet and greet at Casa Rosada, the Argentine Foreign Ministry issued a statement in support of Venezuela’s opposition leader. There, they assured that “this meeting reaffirms the Argentina’s commitment to the defense of democratic values and freedom in the region”.

Then, the Argentine president assured that “Argentina will not be complicit in silence in the face of the injustices and abuses of the Maduro regime. “Our position is clear: freedom, justice and democracy for all Venezuelans.”
“Today’s meeting is part of the will of the Argentine Government to promote the defense of democracy and the protection of fundamental rights, at the same time which marks a milestone in regional diplomacy and reaffirms the commitment of President Milei’s government with the values of the free, Western and capitalist world,” they stated.
