The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrichwarned this Wednesday that The under 20 soccer team could be kidnapped by the Venezuelan regime if they participate in the South American tournament which will take place in that country starting January 23. The Government asked Conmebol to change the venue of the tournament.
“This has led us to think and we are working on a protocol so that they are clear about the places where a member of a security force or an Argentine is at risk. Can our under 20 team go to Venezuela, can’t they take them from hostages?“warned the minister.
Bullrich’s suggestion arose after kidnapping of Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo in Venezuela, where he is accused of wanting to assassinate the local vice president, two days before the inauguration of a new mandate for Nicolás Maduro. The Government does not recognize the victory of Chavismo in the presidential elections of last July 28 and denounces that Gallo’s case is a retaliation.

Can you make a South American in Venezuela? We will have to change venues, Conmebol will have to think about it. “Is Argentina going to send people and boys who can kidnap us?” he warned.
He even announced that they are working on a protocol for trips made by Argentines to countries considered “risky” and human rights are violated. “We have gone from what was a bureaucratic procedure to reconsider the cases of countries that do not have the rule of law“he stated.
