Russian tennis player Yaroslav Demin told Izvestia about the junior tournament of the Australian Open (Australian Open), in which he reached the quarterfinals. There he played a rival from the Czech Republic, who called their match “the best in his life.”
“The tournament went pretty hard. We had to adapt to the conditions that were there. And so, in general, the tournament was a success for me. In general, I liked everything. I was in Australia for the first time: this is the climate, and the weather, and the courts are completely different, and top-level players, ”said the 16-year-old tennis player.
Demin believes that preparation, high level and diligence helped him to perform successfully.
“In the quarterfinals, I felt pretty bad that day, and not everything worked out. I got up badly in the morning, and then everything was not very good. But then, after the match, a Czech tennis player came up to me and said that this was the best match in his life, ”he admitted.
Ahead of the athlete is advanced medical testing (IMT) in Moscow, a trip to training in Spain, where he will prepare for the tournament in Brazil, as well as for the French Open Tennis Roland Garros.
Russian Yaroslav Demin reached the quarterfinals of the junior Australian Open, in which he lost to the representative of the Czech Republic, Yakub Mensik, with a score of 0:6, 1:6. The match lasted 53 minutes.
The main final of the Australian Open between Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev and Spaniard Rafael Nadal will be held on Sunday, January 30. In the quarterfinals on January 26, the Russian defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in five sets. As Tarpischev said at the time, this victory of Medvedev was historic.
