The government of the City of Buenos Aires started the Summer Plan 2025a program designed to perform high-impact street improvements busiest and need maintenance. The goal is to take advantage of the months of the year with the lowest traffic flow.
According to reports, this year the works will cover almost 200 blocksequivalent to approximately 166,000 square meters of surface in emblematic streets and avenues such as Córdoba, Santa Fe, Hipólito Yrigoyen and Diagonal Norteamong many others.
The works will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Space and Urban Hygieneand include comprehensive resurfacing, grading and asphalt renewals. They will also carry out repairs to concrete slabs and relocation of paving stones, as well as improvements in signage and horizontal demarcation
All these tasks are defined according to characteristics and maintenance needs of each street and avenue, at the discretion of the ministry. They also stated that this plan will be developed until February 28.
In that sense, Minister Ignacio Baistrocchi highlighted: “The Summer Plan is a planned 40 business day period to make key improvements on the streets and avenues with the least possible impact on the residents’ routine.

A balance of 2024: annual repaving and patching tasks
The Summer Plan is part of a sustained road maintenance policy that the Buenos Aires Government carries out throughout the year.
In 2024, these actions included:
- 736 blocks repaved.
- 13,314 potholes repaired.
- 36 streets repaved.
- 3,800 marked crossings.
