A woman has posted pictures of facial injuries and body bruises to Instagram, claiming her boyfriend did this to her. As a result, Manchester United rising star Mason Greenwood was reportedly taken into custody.
20-year-old Mason Greenwood is one of Manchester United’s starting eleven under German coach Ralf Rangnick. In the future, however, Rangnick will have to do without the right-wing talent. As it stands, the professional has apparently been taken into custody on suspicion of rape and assault. The police said on Sunday that they “were made aware” of pictures and videos on the Internet in which a woman reported “physical violence”. The authorities then arrested “a man in his 20s”. He remains in custody for questioning.
Greenwood has not yet commented
The club had previously announced that Greenwood had been suspended. The club said: “Manchester United does not condone any form of violence”. Greenwood has not yet commented on the allegations. The rape allegations posted on Instagram on Sunday morning came from Hariet Robson, Greenwood’s girlfriend, and have since been deleted. Alongside a picture of her with a split lip, she wrote: “To anyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood is actually doing to me.”
