2025 began with growth in 0km sales

More than 30,000 km were recorded and, Some automakers project a market of close to 70,000 cars. Although that is the percentage that appears in the statistical system of ACARAit is possible that it will be reduced as the end of January approaches.

Cars: sales grew in the first half of January 22025

The first days of each time they usually receive operations that were pending from the previous month.

In any case, it is estimated that the growth against January 2024 will be important, even more so if one takes into account that, twelve months ago, The market was hit by the devaluation registered in December 2023

One of the factors driving current demand has to do with the growth of credit sales.

The year 2024 closed with rising figures for the clothing market in Argentina, according to ACARA.

In the 12 months of last year, 293,019 items were registered to finance the purchase of 167,200 (59%) 0km vehicles and 125,819 (41%) used vehicles.

Last year’s figure is 22.3% higher than that of 2023 and the segment that grew the most was used, since it expanded 35.2% vs. 14.1% for 0km.

“This growth occurred in a context of market contraction. Remember that last year’s patents were almost 8% lower than those of 2023,” says the entity that brings together the concessionaires.

In general terms, 13% of total operations are financed in the market, but in the case of 0km, 40% was financed last year (7 basis points more than in 2023, where 33% had been financed). .

The participation of financing instruments in 0km sales increased throughout the year, from 32% at the beginning of January to 48% at the end of December.

In the case of second-hand operations, the boost in collateral credit is also evident, although to a lesser extent. While in 2023 5.6% of vehicle transfers were pledged, last year that figure was 7.2%, with notable year-on-year increases starting in May.

Regarding the total market, 2024 closed with 414,041 0km patented, which meant a decrease of 7.9% compared to 2023, according to statistics released by the association that brings together the dealerships (ACARA).

According to the entity’s data, December had a growth of 16.3% in operations compared to the same month last year and a decrease of 40.3% compared to last November. The latter is due to a seasonal issue. Patentings for the month reached 21,602 units.

It must be taken into account that, at the beginning of the year, a 25% drop was expected due to the market collapse after the devaluation of December 2023.
