Manchester City apparently made a record offer for Jack Grealish

Will Manchester City have a mega transfer this summer after all? For Jack Grealish, the Skyblues want to break a record.

Manchester City has reportedly made an offer equivalent to around € 117.5 million for Aston Villas offensive player Jack Grealish. That reports the Telegraph.

City coach Pep Guardiola had actually ruled out transfers of this magnitude for this summer, but the English champions are apparently serious about his dream player Grealish. Noisy Telegraph City is aiming for a decision on the future of the England international before Grealish returns from his European Championship vacation next week.

Makes Manchester City Grealish the Most Expensive EPL Purchase Ever?

With a transfer fee of 117.5 million euros, Grealish would be the most expensive Premier League purchase of all time and would replace Paul Pogba, who moved from Juventus Turin to Manchester United in 2016 for 105 million euros. Overall, the 25-year-old would become the seventh most expensive player in history.

However, Villa Grealish does not want to give up without a fight. The high-end technician is still under contract with his youth club until 2025, but those responsible for the club want to offer him an early extension at improved remuneration. Grealish is currently earning 7.6 million euros per year at Villa.

Grealish had already come to Villa’s junior academy as a six-year-old and since then has always played for the club from Birmingham in the 2013/14 season, with the exception of a nearly one-year loan to Notts County. Last season he scored seven goals and twelve assists in 27 competitive appearances.
