Ski star Odermatt before victory in the Super-G from Kitzbühel
As feared, the first Kitzbühel race is overshadowed by falls and injuries. The top favor is facing a premiere after 35 starters.
The Swiss top favorite Marco Odermatt is on the streak before winning the Super-G from Kitzbühel and its first success. In the race overshadowed by several falls, the World Cup dominator was 0.11 seconds faster after 35 starters than the second-placed Austrian Raphael Haaser. Odermatt’s team -mate Stefan Rogentin ranks third (+0.30). Romed Baumann from the German team landed beyond the top 15.
Even more than the journey from Odermatt, the focus on the first day of the Hahnenkamm weekend. The former World Cup winner and world champion Alexis Pinturault from France injured himself in the same left -hand bend as his team -mate Florian Loriot – both were recovered by the helicopter.
On Saturday (11.30 a.m./ZDF and Eurosport) the notorious departure is coming up in Kitzbühel as the highlight. The slalom (10.15/1.30 p.m.) follows on Sunday, in which last year’s winner Linus Straßer wants to drive around the podium again.
