The Eagles are back in the Super Bowl: 55:23 against Commanders
Three touchdowns by Saquon Barkley, three by Jalen Hurts: The stars of the Philadelphia Eagles deliver and bring their team back to the Super Bowl. The dream has burst for a German.
The Philadelphia Eagles are again in the Super Bowl after a dominant victory against the Washington Commanders. At 55:23 in the NFC final, Runningback Saquon Barkley towered with two touchdowns in the first two attacks by the Eagles and another in the final quarter. His quarterback Jalen Hurts also came to three of their own touchdowns. For the Eagles it is the second participation in the Super Bowl in the past three years. In 2023 the team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. This duel could also occur in New Orleans on February 9th. The chiefs, the defending champion, meet the Buffalo Bills in the AFC final.
“I tried to play it down in my head, but honestly, that’s unique,” said Barkley. “We knew that everyone in the team would need it. Everyone did their job, so you come to the Super Bowl. I always dreamed of it. But the dream was not to be there, but to win.”
For German professionals, the season ends a game too early
For the German NFL professional Brandon Coleman from the Commanders, however, the dream of super-bowl participation has burst for now. Instead of force the opponent’s ball losses a week earlier, this time it was the guests from the US capital, which too often allowed themselves serious mistakes: three times the Eagles came through a fumble of the Commanders in possession – Washington then collected a touchdown every time. In addition, there was a late interception that completely decided the game in favor of the Eagles and also culminated in a touchdown for Philadelphia.
