Ice hockey perspective team clearly loses in Slovakia
Without its best players, the German national ice hockey team has no chance in Slovakia. Before the game, the thoughts are with a died international.
The German national ice hockey team lost the first of two test games against Slovakia. In Banská Bystrica in Slovak, the so -called perspective team lost 0: 4 (0: 1, 0: 2, 0: 1). National coach Harold Kreis waived all top performers and used the games to test numerous players. Already on Thursday (6:00 p.m./Magentasport) the second meeting is also due in Banská Bystrica.
In memory of the international Tobias Eder, who died last week, a minute’s silence took place before the match. In addition, the selection of the German Ice Hockey Association played with a mourning flor. Eder died last Wednesday at the age of 26 after cancer.
The district team with eleven debutants was on the ice after 55 seconds. Sebastian Cederle was successful for the hosts early and increased a few minutes after the beginning of the second round (25th minute). In his first international match, the 24-year-old was also responsible for the 0: 3 (32nd).
Germany’s goalkeeper Arno Tiefensee from the Adler Mannheim saved his team from an even higher gap. During the fourth goal by Daniel TKAC, Tiefensee did not look good (55th).
The two games against Slovakia are the only test games for the German national ice hockey team before starting the World Cup preparation in April. The World Cup in Denmark and Sweden begins on May 9th. The DEB selection plays in the preliminary round against Hungary, Kazakhstan, Norway, Switzerland, USA, world champion Czech Republic and host Denmark.
