Strauss is gone, but the grandson of the “Emperor” is there

Blau-Weiß Linz has to accept the departure of the next regular player: As reported yesterday exclusively on nachrichten.at, Felix Strauss is moving to Bundesliga club Altach. The second division champions collect a fee for the 20-year-old defender, who would have been under contract until 2022 plus an option.

The future of his colleague in central defense, Nicolas Wimmer, is also uncertain: The Linzers rejected the first offer from the interested Bundesliga promoter Klagenfurt.

With the additional income one would also have more leeway with additions: Amstetten’s David Peham or Lustenau’s Haris Tabakovic are also under discussion as candidates for the attack, but both would cost a transfer. Raphael Dwamena, who was able to convince in the trial training and would like to have neo-trainer Gerald Scheiblehner on the team, would be free of charge. Now the task is to come to an agreement financially with the 25-year-old from Ghana.

Beckenbauer on trial

Anteo Fetahu’s signing is also looking good: the 18-year-old striker has made a good impression in previous training sessions and is expected to join the Stahlstadtklub as a prospective player. The other test players Fabian Windhager and Simon Pirkl can prove themselves again in today’s second summer preparatory game against regional league team Vöcklamarkt.

Just like Tobias Koch (Sturm Graz) and Luca Beckenbauer, who are under scrutiny from today: the latter is the grandson of Bayern honorary president Franz Beckenbauer, who most recently played in the German regional league at Koblenz. The 20-year-old went through the youth departments of Bayern Munich, Schalke 04 and Hanover – is considered a great central defender.
