Russian figure skaters did not participate in the evening training before the team figure skating tournament as part of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. On Thursday, February 3, reports “Sport-Express”.
All three athletes representing Russia in single skating did not come to the training: Kamila Valieva, Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova.
From the Japanese team, Kaori Sakamoto came out for training, from the American team – Karen Chen.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) published the composition of the Russian figure skating team for the short program team tournament. The line-up included Mark Kondratyuk, Kamila Valieva, Anastasia Mishina, Alexander Gallyamov, Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov.
Competitions within the team tournament will begin on February 4.
Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the payout for a gold medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing would be 4 million rubles, for a silver medal – 2.5 million rubles, for a bronze medal – 1.7 million rubles.
According to him, those who “accompany athletes to success, help them prepare” will also receive encouragement.
