Ski duo Jocher/Straßer in a team combination far back
From the sofa back onto the slopes: Simon Jocher has to do it again at the Ski World Cup at short notice, but then leaves time in the departure. Colleague Straßer goes into the slalom with plenty of gap.
The German ski racers Simon Jocher and Linus Straßer have little chance of a front position in the World Cup team combination. Jocher took 18th place in the morning.
Straßer therefore goes to the slalom from 1:15 p.m. (ZDF and Eurosport). The WM premiere of the mini team competition on Tuesday was spectacular for women. The Swiss Wendy Holdener, for example, made ten places well in the slalom and cheered with Lara Gut-Behrami, who had shown a weak departure performance, over silver in the end. For Straßer, the medal ranks are most likely too far away.

Jocher had already went home after the single descent on Sunday. Since Romed Baumann, originally intended for the team combination, got sick, the 28-year-old returned to Saalbach-Hinterglemm again. “The preparation was of course anything but optimal,” he said.
He was on the couch when national coach Christian Schwaiger called him and told him that he should pack his things again. The car ride would have taken four and a half hours. In addition, Jocher has been stubborn and painful heel bruising for weeks.
