Baseball instead of tennis
Steffi-Graf son plays for German baseball national team
The German national baseball team receives well-known reinforcements: In the World Cup qualification, the son of two tennis legends for the team should also play.
The son of the two tennis legends Steffi Graf (55) and Andre Agassi (54) has been nominated for the first time for the German baseball national team. The 23-year-old Jaden Agassi is to be used in March in a World Cup qualification tournament in Tucson in the US state of Arizona. The German Baseball and Softball Association (DBV) and the American Major League Baseball (MLB) were known as the organizer of the 2026 World Cup.
Jaden Agassi is the older of two children from Steffi Graf, who was at the top of the Tennis world rankings in her career for a total of 377 weeks and won 22 Grand Slam titles in singles. Her son studied at the University of Southern California and has been playing for Mahoning Valley Scrapper from the MLB Draft League, a kind of talent pool of the Major League baseball since last year.
“Agassi is of course a very tennis-heavy name. My goal is to try to make a baseball name of it,” he told the WKBN news in the USA. “That has always been my sport.”
The German national team plays in the World Cup qualification tournament against China (March 2), Brazil (March 3) and Colombia (March 5). Two of the four teams will be at the World Baseball Classics next year, which have been the official World Cup since 2013.
