The Government enabled the security forces to use the kidnapped weapons to criminal gangs

He Government promulgated the decree of necessity and urgency (DNU) 103/2025, which Authorizes federal police and security forces to reuse confiscated weapons to criminal gangs.

This measure, signed by the President Javier Milei and its cabinet, modifies the Law No. 25,938 with the aim of optimizing state resources in security.

According to the decree, the weapons seized in adequate conditions will be delivered to the National Agency for Controlled Materials (ANMAC), which will determine its destination.

Security forces can use this armament to strengthen their operational capabilities, thus avoiding new expenses in the acquisition of weapons. Article 5 of Law No. 25,938 was modified so that the confiscated weapons are delivered to the Ministry of Securitydirected by the minister Patricia Bullrichwho will decide whether weapons will be destroyed or reused by security forces.

In accordance with article 7, confiscated weapons may be destroyed or used exclusively by federal police and security forces.
