A volunteer helper of the BVB died on Wednesday at Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League game against Sporting Lisbon. BVB the next day did not provide any information about the circumstances of the death of the 63-year-old.
The man had been used as a volunteer at Dortmund home games for almost twelve years. He leaves a woman and two daughters.
Before that, the Borussians played 0-0 against Sporting Lisbon. The Dortmunders won the playoff first leg in Portugal last week 3-0 at the completely harmless leader. On Friday, BVB will be drawn to either the OSC Lille or Aston Villa as an opponent for the round of 16. Both seem to be feasible opponents despite the current situation of the troubled Bundesliga elevator.
