Kimmich and premier class: Bavaria send signals
The Munich team continues to march towards the championship. After the victory in Stuttgart, they look extremely confident – both in the Causa Kimmich and with a view of the explosive European Hit.
The bosses moderated the poker for the future of Joshua Kimmich, the fans already voted on the Champions League hit against Bayer Leverkusen. FC Bayern Munich sent signals in its 3-1 (1: 1) victory at VfB Stuttgart – in the Kimmich causa and the competition. The Bavarian breast could hardly be broader in front of the explosive royal class duel with the workself.
“Nobody stands above the club”
There will be a “very prompt” decision about Kimmich’s future, sports director Christoph Freund announced after the game on Friday evening. Several media had reported in front of the Südschlager that the German football record champion had withdrawn his contract offer to the midfielder. Kimmich’s contract ends on June 30th. The talks have been going on for months – and despite the latest developments, it will probably continue.
“We know what we have together. We are very, very respectful with each other and: We speak,” said sports director Max Eberl. He was not skeptical, the 51-year-old said. But he also made it clear: “In general, nobody stands above the club, and if a player decides differently, he decides differently. And then it will continue at Bayern.” In case of doubt, this also applies to a Kimmich, after all, national team captain and in Bavaria’s center of enormous importance.
At this point one is not, Eberl also made it clear. The door for Kimmich, which was missing against VfB, is therefore still open. The direction, and the Munich attempted to make it clear, pretend.
Bavaria rotate behind – VfB helps
It is no different in the Bundesliga. Bayern have brought 28 out of 30 possible points out of the past ten games. After the title -box pre -season, they seem to march towards the championship.
Last week against Eintracht Frankfurt (4-0) and now at the runner -up in Stuttgart, “two really convincing games” were shown, Eberl said – against teams that “are among the best clubs in Germany”. He finds it “remarkable how we grow in such a game”.
After the deficit by Angelo Stiller (34th minute) and a first half hour, in which the Stuttgart team, according to Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, were “clear”, Michael Olise (45th) had balanced. Leon Goretzka after an evil mistake in the VfB defensive (64th) and the substitute Kingsley Coman after another reckless loss of balls of the hosts (90th) turned the game.
How the team remained calm and came back and dominated in the second half was “very good,” said Eberl.
Neuer demands cleverness against Bayer
Bayern are currently playing “a bit adult”, said goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. That should also help her in the sparkling round of round of 16 in the premier class against Leverkusen on Wednesday. Even little things could decide the duels with the double winner, said Neuer. It is therefore important to keep “cool head” and be “attentive”. You don’t have to “decide everything in one game, but be intelligent”.
The largely lackluster, but in total, quite confident and deserved victory in Stuttgart has shown that Bayern are absolutely ready for Bayer. After the game, the fans sang with joyful expectation from the “European Cup”. Also such a signal that the Munichers broadcast that evening.
