LASK signed Serbian midfielder

The 28-year-old was signed by the Russian first division club Ural Yekaterinburg, where his contract would have run until the summer of 2023. There, the two-time Serbian national team player was used in 13 competitive games this season – the OÖN have already reported in advance about a possible transfer.

Between 2017 and 2020, Jovicic wore the jersey of Red Star Belgrade and also collected minutes of action in the Champions League in 2018. “Branko goes very well with our game idea, he has the pressing style in his blood. He is an absolute mentality player and has everything he needs to quickly fit into the team,” said LASK coach Andreas Wieland. And sports director Radovan Vujanovic added: “Branko is a real fighter on the field and is not above a duel.”

It’s winter transfer number three after Filip Twardzik (CZE, Spartak Trnava/SVK) and Oumar Sako (BGR, Beroe Stara Zagora/BUL).
