The Allianz Arena is lit up in purple tonight as part of Bayern Munich’s game against Leipzig. That’s behind it.
During the FC Bayern game against RB Leipzig on Saturday evening, the Allianz Arena will be lit up in purple, and not in the usual red club color of the German record champions.
Many fans may have wondered why the Allianz Arena is lit up in a different color today.
But the reason is simple, because FC Bayern Munich announced in advance why the Allianz Arena is lit up in purple today.
Allianz Arena glows purple
“As part of the Remembrance Day in German football, which is celebrated annually on the match days around January 27th to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust, this year the Bundesliga is remembering the people who died during the Nazi dictatorship due to their physical, mental, or mental disabilities,” explains FC Bayern here on its official website.
“On the day of the match against Leipzig, the Allianz Arena will once again be illuminated in purple this Saturday to campaign for the rights and equal treatment of people with disabilities.”
