The DFB Cup semi-final between the soccer players of the second division club Hamburger SV and the Bundesliga club Werder Bremen is sold out. The HSV said that 57,000 tickets were sold for the game of the two north clubs in the Volksparkstadion on March 23 (3:30 p.m./Sky and ZDF Livestream). So far there has been such a big backdrop with no football game from women in Germany.
HSV had already discontinued so many tickets last week that the previous national record of 44,808 spectators from the Cup final on May 18, 2023 had been exceeded between VfL Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg (4: 1).
The 91,648 spectators at the Champions League game of FC Barcelona against VfL Wolfsburg in April 2022 in the sold-out Camp Nou are considered the world record for a football game for women.
