Biathlon World Cup
German mixed relay on the Pokljuka sixth
Even for the German Mixed Quartet, a podium is not enough. Without Franziska Preuß, there is a sixth place in Slovenia.
The German mixed relay took sixth place at the end of the Biathlon World Cup in Slovenia. On the Pokljuka, Julia Tannheimer, Sophia Schneider, Danilo Riethmüller and Philipp Nawrath scored seven after -loaders and crossed the finish line 1: 03.6 minutes behind Sieger Sweden. France won second place in front of Norway.
The quartet of the German Ski Association lost the connection to the leaders very early. The 19 -year -old start runner Tannheimer initially handed over to Schneider as a fourth before going backwards. In the end, Riethmüller and Strelow showed strong shooting performance and each met all of their ten shots.
Also Grotian and Strelow without a podium
Previously, Selina Grotian and Justus Strelow had become sixth in the single mixed race. It was the first time this winter that Germany did not make it onto the podium in the mixed duo. “It was frustrating,” said Strelow, who was passed on by second place after shooting.
The overall World Cup leader Franziska Preuss left the relay race from Slovenia as planned to spare themselves for the season finale in Oslo from Friday. In Norway, Preuss wants to defend her yellow jersey, but is only 20 points ahead of the French woman Lou JeanMonnot in three outstanding races.
