Ski flying in Norway
Lost gold, won money: Wellinger cheered titles
Andreas Wellinger is back. After silver at the World Cup, he now wins the lucrative ski jumping series in Norway. The Olympic champion achieved a premiere.
Andreas Wellinger beamed like a small child. Just two weeks after the Trondheim silver coup, the Olympic champion was the first German to win the RAW-Air tour in Norway, giving the ski jumpers the first title in this so complicated winter. “It feels so cool when you can finally stand at the top again,” said Wellinger. “It was a really cool weekend.”

After his day’s victory on Saturday, he was enough for a second place for the four -hill tour of the Vikers and 230.5 meters, which was characterized by massive wind delays, a second place with 230.5 meters. The day victory went to the outstanding Slovenes Domen Prevc (247 meters), which had fallen on Saturday. The podium completed Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi, who flew 222 meters.
It is turbulent weeks for Wellinger. After the weak start in 2025, he recently won second place in the World Cup singles. What was actually a great success later got a bland aftertaste: world champion Marius Lindvik was suspended after the World Cup because his Norwegian team had deliberately manipulated suits. The 29 -year -old Bayer somehow felt a golden moment in Trondheim.
Wellinger: “Perfect Day”
At least he was now allowed to feel the feeling of victory on the gigantic complex of Vikersund. “Mega horny. It was really a day and a performance as I imagined. I was fully with myself and knew exactly what I had to do,” said Wellinger. The national coach Stefan Horngacher, criticized for months, reacted relieved: “This is a very important title. Of course we are very satisfied.”
Wellinger managed his ninth single win in the World Cup – the first on one of the four skiing ski jumps in the company. The Bavarian spoke of “a perfect day” and travels to Finland with a lot of self -confidence. “Now we are back and enjoy the award ceremony,” said Horngacher on ZDF.
The World Cup scandal from Trondheim with manipulations, disqualifications and lies will still deal with ski jumping sports for a long time-but this weekend there was a piece of normality for the first time despite five suspended Norwegians. The Norwegian team is considering foregoing the last two World Cup stations in Lahti and Planica with the fuselage squad. After the publicity debacle, the World Association FIS continues to be promoted.
World record among women
The ski jumpers around Selina Friday had a lot of weather bad luck. On Saturday, the competition was canceled after 21 out of 22 jumpers and set up with one round. A 200-meter flight was enough for third place behind Dominator Nika Prevc and EMA Klinec (both Slovenia).
Katharina Schmid, who may end her career this spring, did not get the targeted flight to the magical brand of 200 meters in the third year in Vikers and in the third year. “It wasn’t what I was hoping for,” said Schmid. The 20 -year -old PrevC, on the other hand, improved the world record to 236 meters on Friday.
