DFB shows new jersey – but a traditional detail is missing

The German Football Association (DFB) was founded on January 28 in 1900. This year is the 125th anniversary of the emergence of the association, which is to be duly celebrated with a special jersey.

As the DFB reports together with the current supplier Adidas, a “limited” jersey version is brought to the people, which has some special features. “The design of the anniversary junction is based on the retro jersey of 1974, the year in which the German men’s national team won the home world championship. Both the coloring and the silhouette of the 125-year anniversary jersey take up the history of the DFB,” writes the DFB on its homepage.

However, it seems particularly interesting what is not visible on the jersey: the federal eagle. “The breast area of ​​the jerseys adorns the Treffoil logo of Adidas and a specially embroidered coat of arms for the 125th anniversary of the DFB, based on the special badge that hangs on the location of the association in Leipzig,” describes the appearance of the jerseys. Since it is about memory of the founding of the association, it is also understandable why no federal eagle appears on the chest with this dress. In 1900 there was simply no Federal Republic and therefore not yet the heraldic animal that was frequently used in later decades.

The anniversary streak on March 20 of this year will be to be seen for the first time. Incidentally, the sports robe is not very cheap: it costs 100 euros without flocking with a name and without a number number. According to Adidas homepage, it can be ordered from March 17th.
