Minute of silence honors Bulgarian footballers who is not dead at all

Footballers think the silence of the silence is ex-player-but he is lively

With a minute’s silence, people commemorate the supposedly deceased Petko Ganchev before a football game in Bulgaria. Meanwhile, he sits at the wheel of his car.

Usually the former Bulgarian soccer professional Petko Ganchev does not miss a game of his ex-club Arda Kardzhali. But on Sunday he was just on his way home when the first division was kicked off against Levski Sofia.

It may have been better that way, because before the game, both teams held a minute’s silence for an allegedly deceased footballer – for Petko Ganchev. But he was very lively in his car.

His cell phone began to ring the bell without constant, but because he was sitting at the wheel, he didn’t want to go, the 78-year-old said. Once at home, his wife was already in the courtyard, with tears in his eyes. “She screamed ‘Petko, Petko, on TV she said that you were died!'” At first he didn’t understand what she wanted to tell him.

A friend of him looked at the game on TV and also noticed the minute’s silence. “He called me and said: ‘I tried to reach you. But you didn’t rose, so I believed what was said on TV.'” Another friend was in the stadium and did not know if he should laugh or cry. “It was the same for me,” said Petko Ganchev.

Bulgarian footballer is wrongly declared dead with minute’s silence

His former club Arda Kardzhali is understandably extremely embarrassed. The association apologized on Facebook: “The leadership of PFK Arda would like to express a sincere apology to the former player Petko Ganchev and his relatives after incorrect information about his death has been received in the club.”

The sports director personally apologized to him ,. Accordingly, there was simply a misunderstanding. “Such things happen,” said Ganchev. “But the situation was not easy until late into the night relatives, friends, acquaintances and not so close acquaintances called.” But he does not blame anyone.

And how do you deal with it when you hear the message from your own death? Ganchev gave a brandy first.
