Handball influencer closed for several years because of doping
Since December, the handball player and influencer Nils Kretschmer had had to wait for a judgment for a positive doping test. That is now there. It could mean its end of career.
The influencer Nils Kretschmer has over 400,000 followers on Instagram. But he is actually a handball player and was employed by the second division club TV Großwallstadt until December. There, however, he was released because of a positive doping test.
Since then, the Handball Bundesliga (HBL) has been advising on the duration of its lock. Now there is one result: Kretschmer should not be allowed to compete for four years. The Presidium of the Handball Bundesliga decided that unanimously.
This would make the 32-year-old’s sporty career as much as over. As the HBL announced, he was shown in a urine test in September of last year “a result of the standard of analysis” in the testosterone value.
Because Kretschmer immediately admitted his guilt, there is a chance that the lock will be reduced to three years. It could still be too late for a sporty comeback at the highest level.

As soon as Kretschmer receives the decision about the decision by post, he has 20 days to inform whether he accepts the consequences or rejects it and applied for a disciplinary procedure.
According to the information, this then falls into the responsibility of the anti-doping commission of the German Handball Federation.

Last December, the suspicion of doping against Kretschmer became known. The HBL then suspended the back room player with immediate effect.
Kretschmer “cooperates fully with the investigative authorities since the allegations have become aware of him,” said his lawyer Felix Rettenmaier of the dpa news agency at the time. “He will contribute to their enlightenment.”
