Norris doesn’t think of Formula 1 title: “Nothing to celebrate”

WM leader Lando Norris still sees a lot of work on the way to his first Formula 1 title. “I hope that we can get better and it will be easier,” said the British McLaren driver before the second run in Shanghai on Sunday (8:00 a.m./Sky and RTL): “There is nothing to celebrate.”
The 25-year-old had won the opening racing in Australia last weekend and, in the overall ranking, leads for the first time in his career in front of world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull. “Was it good? Yes. Was it perfect? No,” said Norris for a successful start in Melbourne at the official press conference in China.
Verstappen “not far away”
“The car is very difficult to drive, even if it is good. The car has to be a little more predictable to drive a little more comfortable,” said the five-time Grand Prix winner, who also expects the Dutchman Verstappen this year. “We saw a quick Red Bull, they are certainly not far away,” said Vice World Champion Norris. However, Verstappen was recently worried about the deficit.
The fact that Norris is now in front in the World Cup ranking and suddenly is no longer the hunter does not change anything for him. “I had a good weekend, but we should all calm down,” said Norris about the increased expectations: “I will not think of the World Cup until at least half the season is over.” For the upcoming race in Shanghai, he showed himself “hopefully” and added: “We want more.”
