The Canadians played through with mouth and nose protection. “We had them on for two-thirds and felt like we had to be super-safe for another third,” said Canada’s Natalie Spooner. “That’s a cool story. We can now say that we were at the Covid Olympics and even wore masks in a game.”
The Canadians initially didn’t want to play their third win in the third preliminary round because the test results from the Russians weren’t available. There had previously been six positive cases in the Russian team.
