Nagelsmann’s messages about society and health

Before the important co-game against Italy, Julian Nagelsmann talks about too little school and popular sports in Germany. The national coach also tells of his childhood in Bavaria.

Julian Nagelsmann was in the football club, in the shooting club and the traditional costume club as a child. Now the national coach is worried about the importance of popular sports and the community feeling funded by a diverse club life in Germany. Children and adolescents in particular would have to do more sports and receive more leisure offers in the local structures, the 37-year-old demanded.

“I see it from a socio-political point of view at school, in the kindergartens, in normal society too. For me, I am about a certain joy that should be combined with sports,” said Nagelsmann before the quarter-final second leg of the national soccer team in the Nations League against Italy.

Nagelsmann states a general lack of exercise. “If younger people are not well healthy either, the health system will be burdened even more. And it is becoming increasingly difficult to finance the whole thing.”

Permanent investments in sports structure

Nagelsmann had often commented on these subjects in his function as a top coach in professional football. “Now we have a little more money right now, but that won’t be the case in the long run. So we have to try to keep certain expenses at a level,” he said persistent investments in the areas of mass sports and health.

There must be a rethink and the lever is set to the youngest. “I think the movement is important to a good extent – and not just an hour a week in school lessons – to get your head free for the subjects, who may then have a little more meaning for life. Not every competitive athlete or professional athlete can become,” said the national coach.

Math is easier with movement

“If I move again briefly 20 minutes before math, I’m not a scientist. But I think I have read a few texts to have the probability that you can remember the binomic formulas is higher than if you were sitting for eight hours before,” said Nagelsmann.

In his multi -minute response to a question about his opinion on this topic, he also told about his childhood and youth in Bavaria. “When I was young, we went to the shooting club on Friday evening. I think I shot three times with the air rifle, so it was more about the currywurst and sitting together and chatting,” he emphasized the social character of club life.

Lederhosen for feses

“Then everyone was actually in the football club or music club. Then there was the traditional costume club. Almost everyone who looked reasonably looked in the leather pants. I was also in the traditional costume club. And then there was still a boys’ club. And today there is actually no more except for the football club,” complained Nagelsmann.

Everyone was “a little more busy with themselves,” he complained. “That’s why I would like to be the importance of exercise and sport than it is up to date. Because I believe that it is good and bind to people and the children.”
