Skir racer Vonn mourns bitch Lucy
For years, little Lucy was a constant companion of ski star Lindsey Vonn. The bitch came to press conferences, on the slopes, on the podium. Now there is sad news.
Skir racer Lindsey Mourn for her bitch Lucy. The animal who had traveled through the Ski World Cup with the American for years died on Sunday, as the 40-year-old athlete announced. “There will never be enough words to describe how much I love it, and my heart will never be the same again without her,” wrote Vonn on Instagram.
The extroverted athlete had taken Lucy as a puppy for the first time in the 2015/16 season and then showed himself again and again with the small dog at press dates and even on winner podia.
Nine years ago, Vonn said that they always feel lonely on the many trips and have been taking antidepressants for a long time. That is precisely why she is so happy about her bitch, who is waiting for her in the hotel room, and “glad to see me, whether I won or not. And I need that.”
Driving skiing, hot air balloon, Olympics – and even a TV show
“We traveled around the world, skiing, hiked, ride, ran the world, have explored, waterfalls drove down, rose to the Olympic Games with hot air balloons … We experienced so many incredible adventures together and created so many memories that I am incredibly happy to be able to share with her,” now wrote Vonn wrote. “We even had our own television show!”
The 2010 Oimpia champion, two-time world champion and 82-time World Cup winner, thanked the veterinarians for having taken care of Lucy all the years and especially in the past few days.
The second dog is better after cancer
Vonn still has an older dog who last had to endure chemotherapy due to cancer. Her “big boy” Leo is doing better again. At the age of twelve, he was still fit, wrote Vonn. “Everything is again as it started … only me and Leo. I am grateful that I still have it.”
Many current and former ski racers expressed their sympathy under the Instagram contribution, including Felix Neureuther, Mikaela Shiffrin and Sofia Goggia.
