Mats Hummels announces career end
In summer it is over: Mats Hummels announced his end of his career in an Instagram video. The 2014 world champion was a professional for over 18 years and won many titles.
Mats Hummels ended his career after this season. This was announced by the 36-year-old soccer world champion from 2014 on Instagram. “After over 18 years and so many things that football gave me, I will end my career this summer,” said Hummels in a video message when many moments of his career were recorded. “When I see it all, I know more how much this whole trip, all this way meant to me, how unusual it was to be able to experience it.”
Hummels became German champion and three times DFB Cup winner with FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. Most recently, the central defender played for AS Rome, but was no longer part of the regular formation. His contract ends in summer.

The long -time international celebrated his greatest success in 2014 with the world championship title in Brazil.
