Rudi Völler has been a sports director at the DFB since 2023. His contract could soon be extended.
DFB President Bernd Neuendorf has an early decision on the possible contract extension of sports director Rudi Völler.
“I have announced that Rudi signaled that he would like to continue – that we are in conversation, and nothing has changed. But I think that we will come to a result in a promptly manner,” said Neuendorf at the opening of the special exhibition “Netzer – The 1970s” in the German Football Museum in Dortmund in honor of Günter Netzer.
Völler should originally only work as a DFB sports director until the 2024 EM European Championship. Then the 64-year-old planned to stop in 2026. Most recently, the former world champion and DFB team boss brought an extension into play by 2028.
