Olympic tickets are sold freely: from 30 to 2900 euros
In ten months, the winter games in northern Italy will be about gold, silver and bronze. Some of the fans have to reach deep into their pockets. And there is another problem.
If you want to see the alpine stars Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin or the German hopes Franziska Preuss and Andreas Wellinger on the hunt for gold, you can seek tickets from today. The Winter Olympics in northern Italy begin in around ten months (February 6 to 22, 2026). It is already clear that there will be no Olympics of short distances like last summer in Paris. The German press agency answers the most important questions about the start of the second ticket sales phase.
How can I be at the winter games?
Tickets for the competitions of the Winter Olympics can only be found on the official homepage at https://tickets.milanocortina2026.org. A first sales phase with prior registration began on February 6, exactly one year before the winter games of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Now there are tickets without prior registration.
How many tickets are there?
A total of 1.6 million cards are available for the entire winter games, there are 116 medal decisions. At the start of the first phase, more than 600,000 tickets have already been sold. In addition to the host country Italy, according to the organizers, it was primarily German, Americans, British and Swiss who bought the tickets. People between the ages of 25 and 44 in particular have so far increased.
How much are the tickets?
The cheapest tickets cost 30 euros, but you can see preliminary round games of the Olympic ice hockey tournament. If you want to be there at the ice hockey final, you have to dig deeper into your pocket. The cheapest ticket here is only 450 euros, the most expensive costs 1,400 euros.
The tickets for tobogganing competitions are affordable, where you can already be included in a medal decision for 75 euros. It gets even cheaper with the Nordic combination, here there are tickets from 40 euros. For ten euros more you can also cheer in the cheapest category in biathlon or cross -country skiing. The most expensive are the tickets for the final ceremony in the Verona arena, for which 2900 euros are due in the best category.
Which tickets are particularly popular?
In the first phase of sales, ice hockey, biathlon, cross -country skiing and figure skating were particularly required. It should probably be particularly atmospheric in the South Tyrol Arena of Antholz. The eleven medal decisions of the biathletes can be 16,000 fans per competition day. The capacity was even reduced for logistical reasons, and up to 20,000 spectators in the World Cup are on site. Traditionally, a lot of German fans come and provide home atmosphere. If you want to see overall World Cup winner Franziska Preuss and Co. live, you pay from 50 euros (route) to 200 euros (stands in the stadium).
How does the award procedure work?
Quite simply: if you order first, you get the tickets. In total, each fan can purchase a maximum of 25 tickets. The maximum limit per competition is ten tickets per session.
What else should it be considered?
The tickets are personalized, so the name of the buyer is on every ticket. From December, however, there should be an online platform on which tickets can also be handed over and the names on the tickets can be changed.
Can I also purchase several tickets for one day?
This is generally possible. However, the winter games are spread across several regions of northern Italy. And from Milan to Cortina d’Ampezzo there are more than 400 kilometers.
