The Suzuka circuit is located near Nagoya, overlooking ISE’s bay. In 1962, Honda ordered its construction as a test track, under the direction of the Dutch designer John Hugenholtz. With an extension of 5.8 km and 18 curvesis one of the greatest, allowing vehicles reach speeds greater than 300 km/h In their lines.

The track offers the possibility of running in both directions. Experienced pilots find it challenging and exciting, while rookies can consider it complicated and, in some cases, risky.

The pilots who knew how to dominate the Japanese track
The most successful pilot in the Suzuka circuit was not a Japanese, but is the legendary German Michael Schumacher, who was crowned world champion seven times. His first victory in Japan occurred in 1995, competing for the Benetton team. Subsequently, in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004, he reached the triumph aboard a Ferrari. The British is followed in statistics and also seven times champion, Lewis Hamilton, who currently keeps the record back on this track.
Another pilot who made history in Suzuka was the Brazilian Ayrton Sennawho took McLaren’s cars to the limits in the 80s and his rivalry with Alain Prost so iconic of those years. Suzuka was previously a circuit that was located in the final files of the calendar, a time that in that region rains a lot, so running was something that not everyone could do.
