Number two in front of Zverev
Alcaraz gets title at Tennis tournament in Monte-Carlo
Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz turns Monte-Carlo’s final. His tournament victory also has consequences for Alexander Zverev.
The Spanish tennis professional Carlos Alcaraz has won the title at the Masters tournament in Monte-Carlo for the first time and will thus replace Alexander Zverev as number two in the world rankings. Alcaraz won 3: 6, 6: 1, 6: 0 in the final against the Italian Lorenzo Musetti. The Olympic third, which was struck at the end, missed his first title at a highest category tournament after the four Grand Slams.
Zverev had already left his opening match and will compete in Munich in the new week. There it starts for the Hamburg against Alexandre Muller from France.
Musetti started stronger in the final against Alcaraz and secured the first round. Then the favorite acted better and dominated. Musetti had to be treated against it and could no longer move properly at the end of the game.
