Bavaria need a magical night in San Siro again

Bayern teams have already done a lot in Milan. Thomas Müller and Co. have to do that 45 days before the final. Efficiency is the magic word for a ripped off inter-team.

A colossal “miracle of Milan” like 1988 is not needed, but another big Bayern night in the football culture San Siro. One with Thomas Müller in the leading role?

After the 1: 2 in the quarter-final first leg against Inter Milan, when Müller came in late, the acclaimed 1-1 promptly scored and in the end there was a loser, the fully sounded goal of the “Title Dahoam” threatens to burst 45 days before the desired final. A scenario that would mean a colossal disappointment for the entire FC Bayern, but also for club legend Müller on the ongoing farewell tour.

The 35-year-old will do everything to do that his 163rd royal class use, with which he would do the last on Wednesday (9:00 p.m./DAZN) with World Star Lionel Messi, is not his last. Two more in the semi -finals and a crowning glory in the final on May 31st in the Allianz Arena are still to follow.

A miracle? Müller sees it differently

Müller continues to believe in the happy ending – first in Milan. “If FC Bayern gains a game with one or two goals difference away, I won’t speak of a miracle,” he said to the mega task.

A football miracle was the 3-1 in the UEFA Cup second leg 37 years ago when Bayern with coach Jupp Heynckes in San Siro were able to turn a 0-2 out of the first leg. The Munich team won all four European Cup away games against Inter Milan. And the first royal class triumph in Milan is unforgettable against FC Valencia – by the way after penalty shootout.

It was just three weeks ago when the national team with the Bayern professionals Kimmich, Sané, the currently injured Jamal Musiala and the celebrated winning goal shooter Leon Goretzka in the Nations League-in the quarter-finals-won 2-1 in the Giuseppe-Mazza Stadium. That should also be a encouragement.

Müller in starting eleven? “The trainer chose – and then we will do”

During the final training in the sunny-warm Munich, Müller was there as the leader with a fire-free on Tuesday. But how does coach Vincent Kompany plan with the 35-year-old in the trendy Milan rain? Joker like in the first leg? Or starter like the 2-2 against Borussia Dortmund?

This is the biggest of all questions that Team player Müller did not want to use in advance. “The coach will think his thoughts like before the first leg. Fortunately and with the coach’s suffering, we have many good options. The coach is looking for – and then we will do it.”

Gnabry ignites – hits Kane?

Harry Kane and Michael Olise are set in the attack department. In addition there are Müller, Leroy Sané and suddenly Serge Gnabry, who was a gaming man against BVB as a promenade and scorer. “If Serge is physically stable, you can’t stop your quality,” said Joshua Kimmich. Kompany could also rely on Raphaël Guerreiro as a music replacement. The Portuguese played in the first leg in the ten position.

Kimmich calls for an “adult” appearance against the ripped off Inter-Team around striker Lautaro Martinez and ex-Bavaria Yann Sommer in goal. Inter-coach Simone Inzaghi, with Italian pathos, held against it: “We have to complete our opus in San Siro!”

One thing is clear: Bayern have to meet, at least once for a possible extension. A case for space greater Müller? In any case, one of the five Bayern goals for striker Kane, who scored three of the five Bayern goals in the round of 16. In the first leg against Inter, however, the supposedly infallible shot a 100 percent chance to the post.

The English warned “cooler” in front of the gate, the Englishman warned: “We have to go into play with the attitude that we can win. It’s only a goal in 90 minutes. It will be difficult, but we believe in it.”

Efficiency is the magic word that all Munich drives, also Kompany. He creates strength “that we had 50 shots on top against Inter and Dortmund”. But there were only three.

And that is not enough if there is constant clapping in a defense without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies. “It doesn’t seem that the opponent always needs an enormously outstanding move to score a goal against us,” Müller remarked defensive susceptibility. In Milan, the young goalkeeper Jonas Urbig (21) must be zero if possible.

“We don’t reward ourselves,” said sports director Max Eberl about the shortcoming of effort and yield. Target water as a solution? “If the drink existed, I would like to take it with me,” said Eberl before the flight to Italy.
