The next star remains: Liverpool extended with van Dijk
Only a week ago extended star strikers Mohamed Salah extended his contract on the Anfield Road. Now follows another key player.
First striker Mohamed Salah, now Star defender Virgil van Dijk: The English Premier League leader FC Liverpool has tied his two most important top performers to the club within a few days. After months of negotiations, the Dutch defense chief signed a new contract for two seasons.
“It is a proud feeling that it is a feeling of joy. It is simply unbelievable. The journey that I have had in my career so far to be able to extend for another two years in this club is incredible and I’m so happy,” Van Dijk was quoted at the club homepage.
Seven big titles since the change in January 2018
The 33-year-old was brought to Liverpool by coach Jürgen Klopp in January 2018 by coach Jürgen Klopp for more than 80 million euros from FC Southampton. Since then, the defender has been one of the decisive players in the success of the Reds.
