Felix Magath wants to become HSV President
Does qualix become a presix now? According to media reports, Felix Magath should become the new HSV president. He had offered his help many times.
According to media reports, former soccer player Felix Magath (71) wants to become President of his heart association Hamburger SV. According to ZEIT ONLINE and BILD.de, the HSV icon informed the advisory board of the club about running for the office at the general meeting on June 21. The still president and former Bundesliga professional Marcell Jansen (39) had announced a few weeks ago not to start again.
The former Bundesliga goalkeeper Richard Golz (56) is applying for the position of Vice President. In a joint email, Magath and Golz announced their candidates by press release. The mail was available to the German Press Agency (dpa).
In the past, Magath had repeatedly brought up for management posts at HSV and acted as a critic of the sporting situation of the second division soccer team. A year ago, the 71-year-old was also traded as a sports director. The decision then fell on Stefan Kuntz.

Magath is one of the defining players of the HSV in its most successful time at the end of the 1970s and in the 1980s, with three German championships and winning the European Championship in 1983.
Later the European champion was also a manager and coach of the club before successfully working on other clubs such as FC Bayern Munich, VfL Wolfsburg and Schalke 04. If he is elected HSV president, he would end his professional trainer career, it said in the message.
Golz played at HSV from 1986 to 1998. After the end of his career, he worked as an assistant coach and young trainer in the youth area.
Two more presidential candidates
Her candidates for the chief position at HSV EV had already announced the chairman of Honorary Councilor Kai Eselsgroth (65) and the entrepreneur Franck Ockens (49) in front of Magath. Among other things, the incumbent Michael Papenfuß (70) and Bernd Wehmeyer (72) and the beach volleyball Olympic champion Laura Ludwig (39) want to apply as deputies.
