Doping allowed: what the Ehanced Games is all about

The so-called Enhanced Games garnish your internet appearance with a very special list of records. 22 world records are listed there. It starts with Ben Johnson’s Olympic run over 100 meters in 1988. Lance Armstrong, who was once celebrated as an icon of cycling, should not be missing. He stood seven times with the yellow jersey in Paris at the end of the Tour de France.

“We appreciate these people as pioneers of human performance and recognize their achievements as a yardstick for human sporting achievements, be naturally or improved,” says the recorded records – which in the world outside the enhanced games are either very controversial or no more records.

Just like Johnson and Armstrong. Both were transferred to the doping. For the makers of the Enhanced Games, however, they are role models. Doping should not only be allowed in these games – the increase in performance thanks to medicine is the principle. As a “ultimate demonstration of what the human body is capable of”, the organizers praise the games that are planned for this or next year. The place has not yet been determined.

But prize money that has it all and should also seduce athletes: one million US dollars is available for a new best time over 100 meters in athletics, and 50 meters in swimming. 250,000 US dollars are awarded in other disciplines at “Records”. The difficult makers do not bother the fact that the times outside the planned Enhanced Games are not recognized when they are reached with the help of illegal means.

The German billionaire Christian Angermayer is among others. “People are programmed to want to see the fastest man or the fastest woman,” he once told the US magazine “Forbes”: “We don’t want to see the fastest natural person.” Angermayer is, among other things, co-founder of a Biopharma company.

According to the “Manager Magazin”, Angermayer knows almost no other business representative or politician in Germany the family and the government of US President Donald Trump, whose son is also one of the investors behind the project.

It is hardly surprising that this does not save with superlatives when it comes to enhanced games. “This is about excellence, innovation and American dominance on the world stage-something that the Maga movement (Make America Great Again) is about,” said Donald Trump Junior when he was announced by the 1789 capital investment company.

“With these top -class investors, we are building up some revolutionary things – sports without hypocrisy, in which the best can actually be the best. Our investors see the future,” said the President of Enhanced Games, Aron d’Souza.

The “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” wrote D’Souza and his colleagues only for sporty superlatives: “They are convinced transhumanists, so people who do everything to live as long as possible, even with taking chemical substances.” Under his name on his Instagram account, D’Asuza says: “On the mission to create a new super human.”

The makers refer to them as the “new Olympic Games for a new golden age”. In the video with the unchecked self-praise, US President Trump also appears, he is quoted from a speech: “The impossible is what we can do best.”

The Enhanced Games are to take place in different locations every year. Athletics, swimming and strength sport should initially be on the program. There are no further details. However, the athletes should be released “whether they want to participate as natural or improved athletes”.

“There is only one message, and it is: If someone is so stupid and thinks he wants to participate, and he is part of the traditional, philosophical end of our sport, then it will be blocked,” for a long time, “emphasized the head of Athletics Sebastian Coe. The former world-class middle stretcher described the “improved games” as “nonsens”.

The world anti-doping agency spoke of a “dangerous and irresponsible” concept of the Enhanced Games. The International Olympic Committee emphasized: “The idea of ​​the ‘Enhanced Games’ does not deserve a comment. If you want to destroy the concept of fair play (…) in sport, that’s a good way.”

Dan Turner is a medical person responsible for the athletes. He made his doctorate in human physiology that he specializes in health, change in behavior, performance optimization, nutrition, biotechnology, psychology and holistic healing, according to his homepage.

According to the “New York Times”, Turner made it clear that everything was “absolutely not the case”. So far, there has not yet been a list of funds that are to be prohibited. Turner confirmed that medication may only be taken under medical supervision.

A medical profile is created in a first phase, in one second the participants are divided into three groups: “natural athletes”, “Independent improved athletes” and “improved team athletes”. Phase three – as it is shown on the homepage – consists of medical surveillance as well as personalized performance and financial support. Phase four are the Enhanced Games itself.
